Im aware of the members you are referencing, and I agree with you 100% that they should not be using a new target each time they shoot.
What i don’t agree with is the committee’s solution. IMHO, making every member pay for their targets is the easy way out and it penalises every other member for the ignorance and selfishness of a few.
What if the committee were to explain to the offenders that they are not entitled to a new target every week? Perhaps the new targets could be kept under lock and key, separate from the used targets. Another option would be mandating that new targets can only be distributed by a committee member. Alternatively, the committee could issue targets to each member and the member be responsible for that target and are required to produce the ‘shot out’ target in order to get a replacement. If they can’t produce it they would then be required to purchase their replacement target.
I’m sure the committee could find a solution that doesn’t need every member to be punished for the actions of a few.
I’d be happy to hear everyone’s thoughts.
